SHARE's "Common Ground" Innitiatve in Israel/Palestine

Help SHARE continue to promote dialoge and understanding between young Israelis and Palestinians in 2016!

Since its founding in 2012, SHARE has sought to engage young people in ethnic and territorial conflicts by providing an unbaised setting where they can engage with past, the present, and one another through archaeological fieldwork. SHARE is non-partisan and participant-driven. We maintain that archaeology provides a unique opportunity for meaningful dialogue because of its often contested position in the socio-political arena. Moreover, the highly physical, complicated, and goal-oriented nature of archaeological fieldwork promotes cooperation, fosters camaraderie, and contributes to the creation of meaningful and lasting relationships.

This year, we are excited to continue our summer excavation and conservation program at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Akko, Israel, and will be launching a brand new program at the ancient site of Tel Gezer. Our partners include Penn State, UCLA, the Leon Levy Expedition to Ashkelon, along with numerous other academic institutions and organizations. SHARE is 100% volunteer based, and all funds raised go towards the expenses of our students and programs.

The support we receive this year is critical for our programs and the growth of our organization in the years to come! Thank you for your contribution!
