These young ladies that have benefitted from the Tuition Assistance Program in the past, fully embody the qualities associated with a stellar Hilltopper. By making a gift today, you will allow us, the Alumnae Association, to step in and support our fellow Hilltoppers in a moment when they are experiencing financial hardship. This is when the special bond we share as Hill women is at its strongest.
Breaking Down the Tuition Assistance Fund
The Tuition Assistance Fund awards scholarship to a currently enrolled student in good academic standing who embodies the mission of SJHA. We currently have $14,000 for this fund held in a savings account at Chase Bank. As you may recall, nearly a year and a half ago this account was at $25,000. In that time, we have awarded $17,400 in Tuition Assistance thanks to the generous donors of this program. Although we currently have $14,000, it is not merely enough to meet the growing demand for assistance.
This fund has allowed us to award:
- One half scholarship to a senior in 2011
- One half scholarship to a junior in 2012
- One half scholarship to a sophomore in 2012
- Three partial scholarships to 2 juniors and a senior in 2013
- Planned to award two half scholarships to students in 2014
