SCCAA consists of concerned citizens from across South Carolina and the country. Established in 2010, the organization is led by a board of directors from across the state. Ambassador David Wilkins serves as Chairman, Wes Jones as Vice Chairman, and S.C. Rep. Jim Harrison as Treasurer. SCCAA is organized as a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.

There are no limits on the amount that may be contributed to SCCAA by an individual, corporation, union, or trade association; however, SCCAA does not accept contributions from foreign entities. While any person or entity that contributes more than $5,000 to a 501(c)(4) organization must be disclosed to the IRS, these disclosures are not available to the general public.

Contributions are not tax deductible as charitable donations, but they may be deductible as a business expense. Contributions to SCCAA do not count against an individual’s $117,000 biennial aggregate contribution limit under federal campaign finance law.
