Hurricane Harvey resulted in the temporary closure of five TSUS institutions: Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange and Lamar State College-Port Arthur.

In addition to the campus closures, the storm created financial and logistical challenges for hundreds of students who were personally affected by this natural disaster. The TSUS Foundation is seeking donations to help students who have demonstrated financial need in order to make progress toward their degrees.

The Texas State University System Foundation, Inc. is a public, non-profit corporation that provides private financial support to the System and its member institutions. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible and 100% of the money raised will go directly to students in need.
