Cut the Property Tax Rate in Cecil County

Since County Executive Alan McCarthy took office, the taxpaying citizens of Cecil County have been treated like an automated teller machine for government spending.

First, there were multiple tax and fee increases. Then came the unnecessary spending increases, followed by handouts and tax breaks for wealthy, international corporations.

Meanwhile, the working, taxpaying citizens have received nothing but bigger tax bills.

And now for the second year in a row, the McCarthy administration is refusing to offer tax relief for property owners by setting the tax rate at constant yield.

Enough is enough!

It's time for Cecil politicians to start putting the interests of county taxpayers first by offering meaningful tax relief in the form of a property tax reduction.
