United Hearts Water

Mama Hope has partnered with the United Hearts Children Center in Bawjiase, Ghana to build them a new orphanage facility and while the building structure is now near completion, the center lacks a well and running water. After two failed attempts to dig wells near the orphanage, it has been determined that a borehole is the best and only option.

A deep borehole will allow the children and staff to spend significantly less time fetching water and more time on school work and other tasks. It will also allow for a more consistent, cleaner source of water, which will create a more sanitary environment for everyone. After three previous trips to United Hearts, Barbara Edema is raising $10,000 for her 50th birthday in order to equip the new building with running water.

 In her own words...

"United Hearts Children’s Center is a very special place for our family. I would like more than anything to make sure they have running water in their new facility so that they no longer need to fetch more than 100 buckets of water per day from the nearest well. Please celebrate my birthday with me as we raise the $10,000.00 needed to drill a well and get the water flowing!"
