Support the Effort to Pass Voter ID

ABC 11 broke this story of voter fraud from the 2008 election. These arrests prove that voter fraud exists. No one truly knows how widespread the problem is, but the simple solution, the best way to restore confidence in our elections, is to enact Voter ID.

Republican legislators passed Voter ID to give North Carolinians confidence that our elections are fair and legitimate - and to eliminate fraud. Despite overwhelming support for the bill (over 75 percent of North Carolinians favor Voter ID), Governor Perdue vetoed Voter ID and Democratic legislators blocked Republicans from overriding her veto.

The question is, Why?

Why is there any debate about this common sense proposal that would restore faith in our election process and eliminate fraud?
