Generating a (Polite) Mob at the Capitol Pre-recorded Webinar

http://www.facltraining.org
Friends,

What is the number one fear of any elected official?

Demonstrable proof of large numbers of angry voters, and this can come in many forms.

Mail and Petitions:

Phone Calls:

Which should you use?

Well it depends on your resources. If you are just starting up, or you have never raised any money, you just might not have the resources to do mailings, or the ability to set up a phone bank.

So, is there another way to prove to the politicians that there are angry voters in their district?

Yes, there is! One of the time-tested methods is putting together a mob. Otherwise known as a demonstration, protest, event, or whatever you want to call it, it is getting a large group of people to the capitol, or at a town hall meeting, or other strategic location.

So how do you get a mob to show up? And if you put together your mob, what do you do with it to maximize their time and impact?

That is what we will be discussing on our Generating a (Polite) Mob at the Capitol Pre-recorded Webinar.

You will learn:

  • When you should think about putting on a demonstration.
  • What to do when other groups are doing a big event.
  • How to drive turnout.
  • How to set up the event to make sure you harvest the contact information of those attending.
  • How to make sure you demonstrate to the politicians that they need to take you seriously.

It is morally wrong to waste people’s time.

Remember, if you are asking people to take time out of their day, spend money for gas etc. then you have an obligation not to waste their time. This means you need to plan and prepare for your crowd.

But what do you need to prepare? If you are not sure, then you need to purchase this webinar.

I will warn you, I am not a fan of demonstrations or other mass events. Personally, I don’t think you get the most bang for your buck. These things take a great deal of time to put together, and a successful event requires a great deal of work.

However, sometimes your members want to make it happen. Sometimes other groups put them on, and you should work to take advantage of the situation.

At some point, nearly every activist is going to be part of some mass demonstration.

Why flounder around and guess or hope that you are doing the right thing? Learn from some of my best mistakes and missed opportunities over my nearly 30 years of grassroots experience.

Sincerely,

Kirk Shelley
